Skilled Nursing

At Hancock County Home Care , skilled nurses provide short-term and long-term, professional care to patients who require medical services at home due to an acute illness, long-term health condition, permanent disability or terminal illness. The nurse visits the patient's home to assess current health status and evaluate home safety. If the patient meets criteria for services as required by the insurance carrier, a plan of care is developed with the physician's order. The nurse can refer other services that may be needed by the patient.

Nursing services include but are not limited to:

  • Patient Assessment

  • Wound and surgical dressing changes
